Beer Styles

A beer 'style' is a label or grouping given to a beer to describe its flavour, origin and characteristics. Esentially it is just a name badge that over the years, through trial and error, been adopted by both consumers and producers alike. The following list is not a be-all and end-all list to beer styles, but rather Beer Guide Australia's interpretation of the styles on the market today, and what is likely to exist in the near future. As such this style guide will be updated over time to reflect any market changes.

Where possible we have provided additional information you may find useful, including food matching, glassware and serving temperature information based on each unique style.

We have created a forum topic available here if you would like to discuss the styles and groupings we have currently.
